Fall Reflection.
Are you ready for the New Year? No, not that one—I'm talking about the other one. 😉
Is it just me, or did September sneak up on us faster than we expected? One minute, I was soaking in those endless summer evenings, savoring every golden moment. The next, I blinked and found myself waking up to the crisp, invigorating air of fall. And while summer’s warmth will be missed, fall brings its own magic, don’t you think?
For many—especially parents—September feels like “the other new year.” It’s a fresh start, the beginning of a new cycle. Whether you have kids or not, this is the perfect time to pause and reflect on the journey we've taken so far this year, both personally and professionally. It’s also a great moment to make any necessary course corrections. To help you with that, I’ve put together some journaling prompts just for you. So go ahead, carve out a little “me time” and dive in!
1. Reflection on Achievements:
What are three accomplishments from the past eight months that I’m most proud of?
How have these achievements aligned with my goals for the year?
2. Identifying Challenges:
What challenges have I faced this year, and how have they helped me grow?
Are there any patterns in the obstacles I've encountered that I need to address?
3. Gratitude Check:
What or who has been a consistent source of support for me this year?
How can I express gratitude for the positive experiences and people in my life?
4. Personal Growth:
How have I changed or grown as a person since January?
What new skills or habits have I developed that I want to continue nurturing?
5. Reassessing Priorities:
Are my current priorities still aligned with my values and long-term goals?
What is one area of my life that needs more attention as I move into the last few months of the year?
6. Setting Intentions:
What do I want to achieve before the year ends?
What is one small but significant step I can take this week to start working towards this goal?
7. Mindful Action:
What habits or behaviors do I want to let go of that are no longer serving me?
How can I bring more intention and mindfulness into my daily routines?
8. Visualizing Success:
If I imagine myself on December 31st, what do I hope to have accomplished by then?
What emotions do I want to feel at the end of the year, and how can I create experiences that evoke those feelings?
9. Work-Life Balance:
How have I balanced work and personal life so far this year?
What can I do to create a more harmonious balance for the rest of the year?
10. Final Reflection:
If I could sum up my year so far in one word, what would it be?
What word or theme do I want to guide me through the final months of the year?
